Looking at new urban places through a scenario, and the eyes of people that live, visit or work there. Instead of parking the entire required spaces on one site, we would disperse the parking lots, and at the same time create infill projects that add to the townscape and pedestrian quality of Fullerton. The idea of the presentation would be to show the new townscape through the eyes of a couple, a boyfriend that comes for a visit, taking the train. They meet at the station, go to a ball game, then walk for dinner, then to a club, etc. There are probably other scenarios, an office worker, a young family, etc. It takes the realm of presentation, adding something dramatic, a mood, something that the viewer might understand that the place is for them.
CHSR Fullerton Station is a study of dispersing the parking requirements for the proposed station, to multiple sites, and by doing so providing opportunities to create some wonderful pedestrian oriented urban projects. William Block Architect created the concept plan, the aerial and pedestrian level views, and the beginning of a film that shows the townscape character through the eyes of a couple tht spend a weekend in Fullerton meeting at the station, going to a ballgame, out to dinner, then to a club... all without a car.
